Child Dental Benefits Schedule

At Central Dental Group, we’re passionate about caring for little smiles. As part of our commitment to supporting local families, we proudly participate in the Australian Government’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) – a program designed to make essential dental care more accessible and affordable for eligible children.

  • What is CDBS?

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is a government initiative that provides up to $1,132 in dental benefits over two consecutive calendar years for eligible children aged 0–17. These funds can be used for a wide range of basic dental services with no out-of-pocket costs—so long as the benefit cap hasn’t been exceeded.

  • Who Is Eligible?

Your child may be eligible if:

    ·        They are aged between 0 and 17 years at any point during the calendar year

    ·        They are eligible for Medicare

    ·        You or they receive a government payment such as Family Tax Benefit Part A, Parenting Payment, or another approved payment

If you’re unsure about your child’s eligibility, don’t worry – our team can help you check before your appointment.

  • What’s Covered?

The CDBS covers many routine and essential dental treatments, including:

    ·        Comprehensive check-ups

    ·        Scale and cleans

    ·        Fluoride treatments

    ·        Fissure sealants

    ·        Fillings

    ·        X-rays

    ·        Extractions

    ·        Root canal treatment

Important: Orthodontic or cosmetic dental treatments, and services provided in a hospital, are not covered under the CDBS.
